Accessibility Guide
We welcome all guests to Brean Splash Waterpark & Gym.
The waterpark
Situated on one level and all areas are accessible for guests in a wheelchair.
Reception
Entry into the Waterpark & Gym is via Reception which has automatic doors and a low-level counter.
Admission fee
An admission fee applies for the waterpark & gym. The admission price for the waterpark varies based on the time of year as to what swimming pools and waterslides are in operation. The current timetable and prices are always displayed on the Brean Splash Website, Prices & Times section. Please note we also have an under 8’s policy to keep everyone safe which can also be viewed on our website. Waterpark Admission A disabled guest pays the admission fee based on their age category which is either over 8 years of age or 3-7 years of age or 0-2 years. One carer maximum for each disabled guest is admitted for FREE. In order for a smooth admission please bring with you a proof of disability each time you visit. For proof of disability (blue or orange badges will not be accepted as this does not state the nature of the disability). Examples of documentation required are GP’s letter, Association Membership details, Council run membership, any other form that states the disability. Please note, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) letters are not sufficient as they do not state the nature of the disability.
Changing/ Toilets Waterpark
A unisex disabled toilet/ shower room is located poolside for changing and showering. The shower has handrails and a pull-down seat which adjustable shower head. Lockers are provided at varying height from the ground, waist and mid-chest height and take a 20p coin which is refunded after use.
The Gym
Located on the first floor and is accessed via the lift in Brean Play which is linked by an internal walkway from Brean Splash Reception. A unisex disabled toilet/ shower room is located on the first floor near to the gym. The shower has handrails and a pull-down seat which adjustable shower head. Lockers are provided at varying height from ground, waist and mid-chest height and take a £1 coin which is refunded after use.
Access to swimming pools
We have a portable battery-operated hoist that can be used to assist entry into the 25m swimming pool. If you require this please let reception know upon arrival so we can allocate a team member to prepare the hoist for you.
25m Indoor Pool
The pool has a soft cushioned floor with a constant depth of 1.12m. There is walk down steps with 4 steps with a handrail located at either end of the pool. A wheelchair can be left on poolside. The water temperature is between 28 – 30 degrees.
Indoor Baby Pool
The pool has a soft cushioned floor with a constant depth of 0.6m. This pool is only available at certain times and for children under 4 years of age and their older siblings under 8. There is one set of walk down steps with 4 steps and a handrail. The water temperature is between 30 -34 degrees.
Indoor Splash Zone Pool
This is a beached entry pool with a depth of 0.4m. There are water features for children to play within the pool as well as slides which have steps to access for children under 16 years of age. The water temperature is between 28 – 30 degrees. In this area is a fully accessible disabled toilet.
Outside Seaside pool
This is a beached entry pool with a depth of 0.4 m. There are slides in this pool accessed by steps for children under the age of 12 years. Water temperature is between 26 -30 degrees.
Outdoor pool
This pool is used for customers on slides to enter the pool. It is not used for swimming. Exit from the pool is via 4 steps. HANDRAIL. The water depth is a constant 1.2m. Water temperature is between 26 -30 degrees.
Waterslides
Please refer to the Brean Splash Waterpark website and waterslide rules section which detail height and age restriction for the slides. No exceptions are made to the rules. Riders should not use the slides when pregnant, if they have a heart condition, are in a plaster cast or have a back condition or medical condition preventing them from riding in the correct riding position or a condition that could be aggravated from using the slides. Riders must be able to maintain their body position in the correct riding position in order to use the slides. This is either a sitting or lying positions, feet first and we recommend arms are folded. Access to all waterslides is via steps. The outside River Ride waterslide requires riders to sit in a tyre and hold on to the two handles. Riders, therefore, need to be able to maintain this position at all times. If you are unsure if you are able to ride the waterslides please ring beforehand to discuss with the Duty Officer.
Spectators at Brean Splash Waterpark
Spectators are welcome poolside. There is a poolside grandstand next to the 25m pool. Fixed seating is provided in the splash zone pool area for spectators. Please note that a spectator charge applies. There is also a spectator area within our café area which is free to sit in at all times of the year. The tables have loose chairs and the café area overlooks the splash zone pool. A full café menu is provided and allergen information is available on request. Our team will be pleased to assist guests that require assistance in reading the menu due to any visual impairment.
Use of gym equipment
The gym floor is accessible for wheelchairs. Access to the gym floor is gained via the production of a membership or pay as you go card at Splash Reception. Some doors have coded entry which is located at wheelchair height. A water fountain is provided within the gym floor. Access to the sauna and steam room is via the gym changing rooms. Access up-to the sauna and steam in a wheelchair is possible and the wheelchair can be left outside the entry doors however a wheelchair cannot be accommodated within the sauna/ steam room itself.
Car Parking
We have a large car park adjacent to the attraction with marked disabled bays. Please note a car parking fee applies which is £4.50 for all-day parking, and then £3 after 3pm, please also display your blue parking badge. Car parking is free from mid-November to Easter each year.
Public Transport
There is a bus stop at the front entrance of Brean Leisure Park which is approximately 150m from Brean Splash entrance. There are also bike racks available outside the attraction. We encourage all guests to speak to our friendly team during their visit if they have any feedback or require any assistance so we can make it an enjoyable visit for everyone.
First Bristol, Bath and the West operate a bus service between Weston and Burnham-on-Sea which stops in Brean, right outside the resort.
Services from Taunton via Bridgewater connect the rest of Somerset with Burnham-on-Sea and Brean.
